Fitness and Form
Support / Fitness and Form
How Fitness and Form works in DataFrame.fit. Form is freshness (fitness minus recent fatigue), shown in words on Home and as a chart on Fitness and Form. VO2, lactate threshold, and cycling FTP trends appear when Garmin has them.
Form after today's plan
The Form and Fitness boxes on Home estimate what happens if you complete today's plan, starting from this morning's numbers. Load is planned TSS when the plan has it. That is a forecast, not a rewrite of Garmin's fitness estimate.
VO2, lactate, and FTP
When Garmin has published estimates, Fitness and Form also shows VO2 max, lactate threshold, and cycling FTP over time. Cycling FTP used for TSS and W'bal can still be set or overridden in Settings - Training.
Not a replacement for Garmin training status
Garmin Connect still has its own training status and load. DataFrame.fit charts the same underlying idea in words and a PMC-style plot so you can read freshness next to today's plan.
Steps
- Read Form on Home - Home shows Form as words such as Fresh or Tired. That is fitness minus recent fatigue, not a secret code.
- Open Fitness and Form - The fitness, fatigue, and form chart lives on Fitness and Form, not Home. Scorecards at the top match those three lines.
- Use the zero line - The dashed line is form = 0. Above is fresher; below is more accumulated fatigue. Coloured marks show when form flips.
